music industry integrity
it has come to my attention, that some people don't feel that integrity in the music industry is necessary. i'm not talking about being the most "underground" or what the fuck ever, i just mean, that your releases and bands do well because of hard work, not embellishing. i guess that's a foreign concept for some people. it's very discouraging in the fact that the only way to gain any recognition is by lying about what you've accomplished. fucking posers.

Playlist 3
Man, while out on tour you start listening to some good shit....
Here's a brief rundown
Mouth Of The Architect - Quietly (awesome!)
Dying Fetus - Stop At Nothing
The Fall Of Troy - Manipulator
The Frames - Burn The Maps
James Brown - best of
Mississippi Fred McDowell - Live at the gaslight
That's just some of the stuff I can remember off the top of my head.
Here's a review of the new Mouth of The Architect.
Mouth Of The Architect - Quietly (Translation Loss Records)
- I'm not really sure when this style of music got "cool." I mean, the whole ambient, slow, sludgy, yet very pleasing to the ears. It's kind of a phenomenon to be honest. But I'm glad that there are some bands who have only progressed and gotten better over time. MOTA is a band that has excelled since their first releaes "Time And Withering." Their second release "The Ties That Blind" I thought was fucking ridiculously awesome. So, with "Quietly" I only had high hopes. As this band has not let me down thus far in the few years I've listened to them. The vocals are bit of a departure from the previous efforts, not to mention that there are more of them throughout the record than before. Almost in a song structure kind of way, where there are actual parts written for the song. I like that MOTA isn't afraid to add structure to their style, most bands like this seem to veer away from that. The drums on this record are one of the best sounding drums I've heard in recent memory. My only complaint was that the snare pops just a tad bit too loud for a record like this, but hey, it's nothing huge. The production overall is quality, it's not too polished nor too under produced. It's a perfect sound for an underground band. The guest appearance by the always brilliant Julie Christmas is a nice added bonus. Her voice is that of a siren. It's gorgeous and poisonous all at once. It brings nightmares as much as it comforts your soul. The artwork is very simple, but I enjoy it that way. All in all this record is a quality effort that I think most lovers of music can appreciate. But if you need some references of bands, this is for fans of the obvious - Neurosis, Intronaut, Bohren & Der Club Of Gore, Battle Of Mice and even Eyehategod.

Crom "Hot Sumerian Nights" LP - Ship Date
So I just received word today that the Crom lps will be arriving at my residence on Friday. What sucks for you, is that I will be out of town on tour. But! I do come home for 2 or 3 days in between the tour as we are playing locally those days. So I will be shipping the LPs those days. So look for the ship date to roughly around July 22nd. Cool? Cool.
Remember, the balls deep gold color is almost gone. Also, distros get in touch for trades.
